Gothic Crucified
This Christ on the Cross, from Toro (Zamora), responds to the usual schemes that govern the representations of this type in the period in which the Gothic style developed in Spain up to the 14th century. It is a dead Christ, with his head slightly inclined to his right. Purity cloth long and knotted to the right side. It carries 3 nails. The cross is of the trunk type with segments. Both this, as the arms, may be of later invoice (arrangements). / Extracted from: A.A.V.V.: Instituto Gómez-Moreno (catalog).
