BELL
The bell, without a clapper, recalls the percussion instruments used in the Zhou dynasty, where in numbers of 7, 9 or 13 bells of different sizes were grouped together and played in rituals by percussion, since, like this one, they lacked a clapper. The decorative taste of the end of the 19th century allows the extreme decoration of all these archaizing pieces, reinterpreting archaic models and uses in a new artistic context.
