Nasrid capital

Mármol

Nasrid capital, carved in marble possibly from Macael, has a special feature in its cubic body that has a star-shaped plan, reflecting the function for which it was carved, as it would occupy one of the angles of an octagonal structure (as a temple or qubba). There is another of the same characteristics as this one, in the funds of the Archaeological Museum of Granada. This piece was found in one of the warehouses of the carmen of the Foundation, among other materials that were not used in the construction of the building. Because of its historical and aesthetic value, it was placed in the library of the carmen of the Rodriguez-Acosta Foundation, where today we can contemplate it.
