PORTABLE ALTAR, SHINTÔ
Japanese portable altar containing in its interior a syntho image. This one appears seated on a stepped throne and dressed in the imperial manner. Inside the doors of the altar there are inscriptions that allude to the time and the intention of the altar: “made on a graced day in October of the year 43 of the Meiji era (1910), as an offering for the temple Hom Myo-ji”.
